Echoes of Calm

I'm pleased to share my latest artwork with you, a piece that has truly been a labor of love—Twilight Serenity. This 25" x 50" acrylic on stretched canvas captures the essence of a water lily pond at dusk, a scene that invites you to pause and appreciate the peaceful beauty of nature.

The process of creating Twilight Serenity was an exploration of layers, texture, and light. Although the final piece may appear delicate with its soft brushwork and gentle color palette, it was crafted using an intricate technique. By building up thick layers of opaque, translucent, and transparent paint, I've been able to create a depth and richness that is quite unique. The gloss varnish finish enhances this effect, allowing the artwork to almost glow when illuminated, ideal for simulating the shimmering effect of light dancing on water.

In the scene, you'll find an array of floating green lily pads interspersed with blooming water lilies, their petals in soft pink and white hues. The reflections on the water mirror the surrounding greenery and sky, bringing a sense of calm and tranquility to the composition.
